Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the services provided by KT's K9s ("Service Provider"), a sole trader, offering dog walking services. By booking any services with KT's K9s, you ("Client") agree to the following Terms and Conditions: 

 

1. **Services Provided**

•KT's K9s provides dog walking services as described on the website or as agreed in writing with the Client. The scope of services, including the duration, frequency, and schedule of walks, will be confirmed at the time of booking. 

 

2. **Booking & Payments**

• All services must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

• Payment is required prior to or on the day of the scheduled service unless otherwise agreed in writing. 

• Payment will be made via Bank Transfer. Invoices will be sent to the client on the last Friday of each month and are expected to be paid by the Monday at the latest.

If payment is not received, KT’s K9s has the right to discontinue walks until payment has been received. 

• The cost of a one-hour training walk provided by KT’s K9’s will be £35. This includes a WhatsApp update after each walk about how the walk went and the training we covered. An additional parking charge for each walk will be added to your invoice if you are unable to provide a free parking space or a parking permit.   

​• KT’s K9s reserves the right to modify the rates for dog walking services as outlined in this agreement. Any changes to the rates will be communicated to the Client in writing (via email) with at least 28 days notice prior to the new rates taking effect. 

• Any additional costs incurred during the walk, such as emergency veterinary care, will be the responsibility of the Client. 

 

3. **Cancellation & Rescheduling** 

• Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service to avoid a cancellation fee. 

• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will require full payment for the scheduled service. 

• Rescheduling requests will be accommodated whenever possible but are subject to availability. 

 

KT's K9s is committed to providing reliable and consistent dog walking services. However, there may be occasions where the Dog Walker is unable to fulfill a scheduled walk due to unforeseen circumstances or planned absences.

The Client agrees to the following: 

• In the event that KT's K9s must cancel a scheduled walk due to illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, the Client will be notified as soon as possible, and efforts will be made to reschedule

the walk at a mutually convenient time. 

• KT's K9s will provide the Client with at least 2 weeks’ notice of any planned holidays or absences during which services will not be available. 

• If KT's K9s is unable to perform a scheduled walk, the Client will not be charged for that session. 

• KT's K9s will not be held liable for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation of services due to emergencies or planned absences, though every effort will be made to minimize disruption to the Client’s schedule.

 

4. **Client Responsibilities**

 •The Client must provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding their dog’s health, behaviour, and temperament. 

• All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea, and tick treatments. Proof of vaccinations may be required.

• The Client must provide all necessary equipment for the walk (e.g., collar, lead, harness, muzzle if needed).

• If a dog displays aggressive or dangerous behaviour, KT's K9s reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services without refund. 

 

5. **Liability**

 

•KT's K9s takes all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of both the dog and the Dog Walker during the provision of services. However, the Client acknowledges and agrees to the following: 

• KT's K9s is not liable for any injury or illness sustained by the dog during or after the walk unless it is due to gross negligence on the part of KT's K9s. 

• The Client is responsible for any medical costs resulting from injury or illness to the dog that may occur during or after the service. 

• The Client is responsible for informing KT's K9s of any pre-existing conditions, aggressive behaviour, or potential risks related to their dog that could affect the safety of the dog or the Dog Walker. 

• KT’s K9s is not responsible to replace damaged or lost collars, leads, coats, registration tags or name tags that may go missing or get damaged during walks.

• The Client may be liable for any medical costs or damages resulting from injury caused to the Dog Walker by the dog, particularly if the injury is related to aggressive or unpredictable behaviour that the Client did not disclose.

• The Client is responsible for any damage or injury caused by their dog to property, other animals, or individuals during the walk. 

 

6. **Indemnification**

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold KT's K9s, including its sole trader and any employees or agents, harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees)

that arise out of or relate to: 

• The Client's failure to provide complete, accurate, or truthful information regarding the dog’s behaviour, health, or temperament. 

 •Any medical or veterinary costs resulting from the Client’s dog’s pre-existing conditions or undisclosed behavioural issues.  

• Any legal claims made by third parties arising out of the actions of the Client’s dog during or after the service. This indemnification will remain in effect even after the termination or completion of services.

 

7. **Emergency Care**

• In the event of an emergency, KT's K9s will make every effort to contact the Client or their designated emergency contact. If neither can be reached, KT's K9s reserves the right to seek veterinary care

for the dog at the nearest available vet. All costs associated with emergency care will be the responsibility of the Client.

 

8. **Inclement Weather**

• In cases of extreme weather conditions (e.g., heatwaves, thunderstorms, snow), KT's K9s reserves the right to shorten or reschedule the walk for the safety of the dog.

The Client will be notified, and services will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time. 

 

9. **Keys and Access to Property**

• If the Client provides KT's K9s with a key or access code to their property, the Client agrees that: 

• The key or access code will only be used for the purposes of collecting and dropping off the dog as part of the agreed service. 

• The key will be kept secure and only used by the Dog Walker or authorized persons from KT's K9s. 

• In the event the Client no longer requires services, any keys provided will be returned upon request. 

• KT's K9s is not liable for any loss, damage, or theft occurring at the Client's property unless caused by the gross negligence of the Service Provider.

 

10. **Cleanliness and Condition After Walks**

 • KT's K9s will make every effort to ensure that your dog is returned in a reasonable condition after their walk. However, due to the nature of outdoor activities, dogs may come back wet, muddy, or dirty, especially

in adverse weather conditions. The Client acknowledges and agrees to the following: 

• KT's K9s is not responsible for cleaning or bathing the dog after walks, though reasonable efforts will be made to wipe down the dog if they become particularly dirty (e.g., using a towel provided by the Client). 

• The Client should provide towels or cleaning materials if they require the dog to be wiped down before returning indoors. 

• KT's K9s is not liable for any dirt, mud, or water brought into the Client’s home as a result of the dog returning from a walk. 

 

11. **Dog Walker’s Responsibilities** 

•KT's K9s is committed to providing a professional and safe dog walking service. The Dog Walker agrees to the following responsibilities: 

• The Dog Walker will provide a safe, caring, and attentive environment for the dog during the walk. 

• The Dog Walker will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of the dog and will avoid any known hazards 

• The Dog Walker will notify the Client of any injuries, illnesses, or unusual behaviour noticed during or after the walk. 

• The Dog Walker will ensure that the dog is returned home at the agreed time unless unavoidable delays occur (e.g., emergencies, extreme weather conditions). 

• The Dog Walker will carry basic equipment such as water, first aid kit, emergency bite stick, poop bags, treats and a mobile phone to handle any issues that may arise during the walk. 

• The Dog Walker will not allow the dog off-lead unless it has been agreed upon in writing with the Client and it is in a safe, designated area for off-lead walking. 

• The Dog Walker will act in a professional manner at all times and will respect the Client’s property when collecting or returning the dog.

 

12. **Transportation of Dogs in Vehicles** 

• KT's K9s may transport dogs in a vehicle when necessary for the provision of services (e.g., to access walking locations or in case of emergency). The Client agrees to the following:

 • The Dog Walker will ensure the dog is safely and securely transported, using a seatbelt attached to a harness to ensure the dog’s safety during transit. 

• KT's K9s will take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury or harm to the dog while in the vehicle. 

• The Client consents to their dog being transported in a vehicle and acknowledges that KT's K9s is not liable for any injury or illness that may occur during transportation, unless caused by gross negligence. 

• In case of extreme weather conditions (e.g., excessive heat), the Dog Walker will take appropriate actions to ensure the dog’s well-being. 

• The Client must inform KT's K9s of any concerns or special requirements for their dog during transportation (e.g., anxiety in cars, motion sickness). 

• KT's K9s reserves the right to refuse transportation if it poses a risk to the safety or well-being of the dog or others.

 

13. **Social Media and Marketing** 

KT's K9s may occasionally take photos or videos of your dog during walks or other services for use in marketing and social media. The Client agrees to the following: 

• The Client grants permission for KT's K9s to take photographs or videos of their dog and use them for promotional purposes on social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook), the KT's K9s website, and

other marketing materials. 

• KT's K9s will ensure that no personal information about the Client (such as names or addresses) will be shared without explicit permission. 

• If the Client does not want their dog’s image to be used for these purposes, they must inform KT's K9s in writing prior to the commencement of services. 

• The Client acknowledges that they will not receive any compensation for the use of their dog’s image in marketing or promotional materials. 

 

 14. **Privacy & Data Protection**

 •KT's K9s respects the Client's privacy and will only collect and store information necessary for providing services. Personal information will not be shared with third parties without the Client’s consent,

except where required by law. 

• KT's K9s will comply with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. 

 

15. **Insurance** 

• KT's K9s holds Public Liability Insurance to cover accidental damage or injury caused during the provision of services. Proof of insurance can be provided upon request. 

 

16. **Changes to Terms**

• KT's K9s reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes before their next scheduled service. 

 

17. **Governing Law**

• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from the use of KT's K9s services will be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland. 

 

 18. **Agreement** By booking any service with KT's K9s, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
